Right after adobe updates its software

This is released
Adobe Systems on Thursday warned of new critical holes in Reader and Flash Player, released a security update for the Flash hole, and said a patch for Reader would come next week.

Updates for the following software are coming on Tuesday, according to Adobe's prenotification security advisory:

* Reader 9.3 for Windows, Mac, and Unix
* Acrobat 9.3 for Windows and Mac
* Reader 8.2 for Windows and Mac
* Acrobat 8.2 for Windows and Mac

The Tuesday updates will also address the Flash issue, Adobe said.

Meanwhile, the company released a security update to fix a hole in Flash Player version 10.0.42.43 (and earlier versions) that could "subvert the domain sandbox and make unauthorized cross-domain requests," according to a security bulletin.

Typical MS Windows patch causes blue screen of death for some

Once again Ms windows update destroys Windows.
this is the primary reason i don't agree with all experts about installing Windows update automatically and believe it should be done manually at least a week after MS fixes all windows update problems or pulls it off Windows update sites.
On Tuesday, Microsoft released a patch (KB977165) for Windows that can casue widnows not to boot i have seen this already
here is a possible fix
1. Boot from a Windows XP setup CD and select Recovery Console at the prompt
2. Change directories to the uninstall directory of update in question: At the C:\windows prompt, type "CD $NtUninstallKB977165$\spuninst" and press Enter.
3. Run in the uninstall script for that update: At the prompt, type "BATCH spuninst.txt" and press Enter. This executes the txt file as a batch script.

Microsoft has posted an offical response to the issue (it might say somthing like we have a monoply on you computers and are not responsable for our product you are!)

Component shortages lead analysts to forecast rise in prices of personal electronics and computers

The FT reports that DRAM prices have recently risen by 23 percent, followed closely by LCD prices with a 20 percent jump, both in response to the financial crisis the whole globe seems to be suffering from. Because the effects of recently renewed investment in capacity building won't be felt for a while, we're told to prepare for higher prices throughout this year -- a significant combo breaker from the previous decade's average of around 7.8 percent drops.

A Guide to a More Secure Network: Part 2

More stuff to consider to secure your corporate network.

After deploying a good web-filter and anti-virus software it's time to scan the network for viruses and intrusions.

Configure you router to block all outgoing and incoming ports and
all open ports should have basic filtering and IP.

Update and scan all computers on the network through your server with software like Gfi Languard

Turn on logging on all your network applications and monitor logs by looking for viruses and intrusions
using software such as easyIDS.

Consider upgrading your router to use intrusion prevention services and software such as snor.

All your phone calls are mine

The vast majority of calls carried out on the 3.5 billion GSM connections in the world today are protected by a 21-year old 64-bit encryption algorithm? Given that the A5/1 privacy algorithm, devised in 1988, has been deciphered by German computer engineer Karsten Nohl and published
Nohl assures everyone that the hardware and software needed are all available through free, open-source channels.
All your phone calls can now easily be monitored by regular people
just like the army's spy drones can be monitored for a mere $25 skydrone program
soon to come a full guide and programs to monitor all you phone calls on gsm networks like ATT etc...

Blackberry Service Down (Again)

Research In Motion's Blackberry e-mail service suffered a significant outage for the second time in as many weeks.

"Some Blackberry customers in the Americas are currently experiencing delays in message delivery," RIM said in a statement.

"Our technical teams are actively working to resolve this issue for those impacted. We apologize for any inconvenience," RIM said.

The problem appeared to arise early Wednesday, as users flooded Twitter and other social networking sites with posts in which they complained their Blackberry service had slowed to a crawl or was down altogether.
